4. Bushwacker Air provides fly-out ungided hunting trips for sheep, caribou, moose and grizzly bear. We transport hunters to the porcupine and central arctic caribou herds. Alaska fish and game puts the total number of animals in these two herds at 200,000 making them the second largest heard in the state. The state has very liberal limits on these herds and in 2010 set the limit for non residents at five caribou .
The Brooks Range is known for it's great sheep hunting and is one of the better areas of the state if you are looking for a trophy ram. These areas are also good for Ptarmigan hunting as well as fishing for Arctic char and grayling.
We also provide moose and caribou hunting out of our Fairbanks base, during the month of September. Unit 20 has one of the highest moose populations in the state, And offers a very good chance of taking a trophy moose. Starting in 2011 we will also be transporting hunters over into the 40 mile country for moose and caribou. Our hunts out of our Fairbanks office range from $1,750 per person to $2,500 per person depending on the distance of the flight.
All of our hunting is done with Piper super cub aircraft . These are high performance aircraft that can take off and land in very short distances. You are allowed a total of 50lbs. of gear plus a rifle, this is an FAA regulation and cannot be exceeded. All gear will be weighed prior to each flight. This allows us to put you into areas where other aircraft can not reach.
We will do our best to get you as close as possible to the area you want to hunt. If you do not know where you want to hunt we can take you to places where other hunters have had success.
Brooks Range pricing for 2012 will be a flat
rate of $2,500 for the following river drainages
Canning
Hula Hula
Ivashak
Ribdon
Echooka
Aichilik
Jago
On any of these hunts if you take a Moose there will be a extra charge of 900.00 dollars for meat hauling.

* Meat must be boned out.
200 pounds of extra gear can be flown in for an additional price of $600.00. The gear must physically fit in a super cub and must be okayed in advance.

Reservations may be made by phone or e-mail but will not be confirmed, until we receive your deposit. The required deposit is 50 % of the base rate per hunter. The remaining balance will be due not later than 60 days prior to the hunt. When we receive your deposit we will forward a transporter contract or you are welcome download one from the website.
